چکیده

The connection between the two-point and the three-point correlation functions in the non-linear gravitational clustering regime is studied. We derive a new relationship between these correlation functions under the scaling hypothesis. In particular, we find that the three-point correlation function, ζ , obeys the scaling law, ζ ∝ ξ 3m+4w 2m+2w , once the Fourier phases remain correlated due to non-linear gravitational clustering, where ξ, m, and w are the two-point correlation function, the power index of the power spectrum in the non-linear regime, and the number of the spatial dimension, respectively. That is, the power index of the three-point correlation function depends only on the two-point correlation, and deviates from that of “hierarchical form”, ζ ∝ ξ, generally. Furthermore, our numerical results in the one-dimensional Einstein-de Sitter model support our analytical expression rather than the “hierarchical form”. Projected Three-Point Correlation Functions and Galaxy Bias

The three-point correlation function (3PCF) can now be measured in large galaxy redshift surveys, but in three dimensions its interpretation is complicated by the presence of redshift-space distortions. I investigate the projected 3PCF, where these distortions are eliminated by integrating over the redshift dimension, as is commonly done for the two-point correlation function. The calculation o...

A new method for fuzzification of nested dummy variables by fuzzy clustering membership functions and its application in financial economy

In this study, the aim is to propose a new method for fuzzification of nested dummy variables. The fuzzification idea of dummy variables has been acquired from non-linear part of regime switching models in econometrics. In these models, the concept of transfer functions is like the notion of fuzzy membership functions, but no principle or linguistic sentence have been used for inputs. Consequen...

Large-N expansions applied to gravitational clustering

We develop a path-integral formalism to study the formation of large-scale structures in the universe. Starting from the equations of motion of hydrodynamics (single-stream approximation) we derive the action which describes the statistical properties of the density and velocity fields for Gaussian initial conditions. Then, we present large-N expansions (associated with a generalization to N fi...

A Three-Point Iterative Method for Solving Nonlinear Equations with High Efficiency Index

In this paper, we proposed a three-point iterative method for finding the simple roots of non- linear equations via mid-point and interpolation approach. The method requires one evaluation of the derivative and three(3) functions evaluation with efficiency index of 81/4 ≈ 1.682. Numerical results reported here, between the proposed method with some other existing methods shows that our method i...

Combined Economic and Emission Dispatch Solution Using Exchange Market Algorithm

This paper proposes the exchange market algorithm (EMA) to solve the combined economic and emission dispatch (CEED) problems in thermal power plants. The EMA is a new, robust and efficient algorithm to exploit the global optimum point in optimization problems. Existence of two seeking operators in EMA provides a high ability in exploiting global optimum point. In order to show the capabilities ...
